Well we've been going a week now, thanks to everyone for your support and all the useful information that has been supplied thus far! I hope that we continue as we've started  Sonic is undertaking work in the background to get the next stage of the forum ready and more details of this will follow as appropriate.

We recieved further press coverage following the Daily Mail letter, my local paper (Bristol Evening Post) here is sunny Brissol contacted me and have written an article on the site and how the Audi Community is pulling together to help itself overcome the problems. As with the letter, the article uses the link to the BBC's Ashes to Ashes program and mentions how difficult DCI Gene Hunt would find fighting crime in a quattro in 2009 with all the NLA parts! There have also been assurances from magazines that they will gove us a plug so here's hoping. I hope that members of the various Audi Forums who have started to support us will encourage their friends to pop over too and help us get a handle on the parts situation...

Unfortunately today (Tuesday) we were spammed by some lowlifes selling crap to make things fall off or something... Thanks to amanda for the phone call, if you spot anything untoward then please alert me or Sonic and we'll look into it / get it sorted. I know Sonic has taken measures to make things more difficult in the future but these people/machines are relentless and thus annoying as hell...

Anyway, please all continue to enjoy the forum and to share information on the NLA issue.

Cheers, Rusty

Well we've been going a whopping 3 days now and have already got nearly 100 members

Firstly, I'd like to introduce the site staff:-

Site Admin - Sonic aka Andy - S2 Coupe - computer whizz and fearless 'ring driver!
Site Moderator - Rusty aka Andy - S2 Coupe - me ;)
Site Moderator - S2central.net aka Paul - S2 Coupe - Daddy of the S2forum, S2central and the Homefries magicain.

Noticing a theme here... We're speaking to a few parts specialists and will be looking to sort mods out from other areas of the Audi community and other countries for that international flair, all will be sorted in the next few weeks.

Secondly, please tell all your Audi friends about us so that we can get as much support and information as possible and start to get a clearer picture of this problem across the Audi range. Thanks to all those who have introduced themselves and to contributed information so far, tip and iceberg spring to mind and we've already got about 100 parts listed :o

Thirdly, in other news, I have the Daily Mail coming over later today to take some pictures for their letters page and have had a response from Evo magazine indicating that they might publish one of the letters in their Evomail section. As yet I have not had a reply from Audi Driver, or any other of the magazines approached but there's plenty of time yet! With Ashes to Ashes making a return we must hope that classic Audi news is very much in demand at this time so fingers crossed!

Finally, just a quick note to remind all of you to enjoy the forum and please do not heistate to contact us if you have any questions.

Just thought I'd break the site's virginity with a first post and identify the aims of the forum as myself (Andy) and Sonic (Andy) have discussed before creating it.

Primarily this is a forum to compile information on the increasing numbers of parts for Audi cars that are becoming No Longer Available, NLA! With this information at hand we can approach Audi both directly through their customer service department and indirectly through the forums and motoring press and try to make our collective voice heard.

Secondly, it is a single resource where parts can be requested and advertised allowing the wider sharing of resources.

Thirdly, please share with us the places where you can get help above and beyond the usual. There are many on the S2 Forum who are invaluable and without them breaking cars we'd all be immobile! Classic Audi friendly garages also.

I for one love my ABY Coupe S2, Sonic has one of the nicest late spec ABY coupes I've seen and there are countless others who have beautiful cars spanning the entire history of Audi. Audi should support us in maintaining the company's heritage both from the perspective of parts and service and also in a larger, more Audi family based role. When we see a new Audi stand at a show it should not be us and them, it should be another part of the Audi family that we all enjoy.

Andy and I hope the forum meets the goals outlined above and allows members to find parts and information for their classic and modern Audis and thus keep them running long into the future !

Thanks to any new members for their support and advice in advance!

Enjoy!

Cheers, Andy & Andy (Rusty & Sonic)
